# Terms of service

*Last updated: 19 October 2026*

These terms cover your use of QR4Events at qr4events.co.uk (the "service"), provided by **Derham Productions Ltd**, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12548980), of Unit 5 - Pole Position, London Road, Bassets Pole, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands B75 5SA (VAT registration number GB311 3718 40). "We" and "us" means Derham Productions Ltd; "you" means the person or organisation that creates an account.

By creating an account or buying a plan you agree to these terms. If you're acting for an organisation, you confirm you're allowed to agree to them for it.

## 1. The service

QR4Events lets you create **dynamic QR codes**. Each code holds a short link on our site (for example qr4events.co.uk/q/x7k2pq). When someone scans it, we count the scan and send them on to the destination you've set, which you can change at any time. You can download artwork for each code, see scan statistics, and - depending on your plan - schedule destinations, group codes by event, make codes in bulk and share read-only statistics.

The service is intended for business use by event organisers, agencies, venues and production companies. In the UK (including the Isle of Man) anyone can buy a plan. **Outside the UK we sell to businesses only**: you'll need to give your company name and its VAT, GST or business tax number when you buy.

## 2. Your account and the free trial

You must give accurate details and keep your password safe. You're responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us straight away at <hello@derhamproductions.com> if you think someone else has used it.

You must confirm your email address before you can use your account. New accounts get a free trial, starting when you confirm your address: one code for 48 hours, with no payment details needed. One trial per person or organisation.

## 3. Plans, prices and payment

- **Event packs** give you a number of codes for 1, 3 or 12 months. You pay once; **packs never renew**. You can extend a pack at any time, and your codes keep working with no reprint. If you switch to a different pack while one is running, the unused part of your current pack is taken off the price.
- **Subscriptions** give you a number of codes for as long as the subscription is paid. They renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account; your codes then keep working until the end of the period you've paid for.
- **Prices are shown without VAT.** For customers in the UK and the Isle of Man, UK VAT at 20% is added at checkout and shown on your invoice.
- **Business customers outside the UK** pay the price without VAT. The reverse charge applies: you account for any VAT due in your own country. We check EU VAT numbers with the European Commission's VIES service; if a number doesn't pass, we can't complete the sale until it's corrected. You confirm that the business details you give us are accurate, and that you're buying for your business.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider, **Stripe**. A plan starts once your payment is confirmed. We issue an invoice for every payment (a VAT invoice for UK customers), which you can download from your account.
- **Custom plans** (larger quantities, your own domain, other terms) are agreed with us in writing; anything agreed there overrides these terms where they differ.
- We may change our prices at any time. Changes don't affect packs already paid for, and we'll give subscribers at least 30 days' notice before a change applies to their next renewal.

## 4. When a plan ends

When your plan ends - a pack runs out, a subscription is cancelled or a renewal can't be collected, or your trial ends - **all of your codes stop working straight away**. People who scan them see a page saying the code isn't active. Your codes, settings and statistics are kept, and buying a plan brings the same codes back.

If a subscription payment fails, your codes keep working for up to 7 days while Stripe retries the payment.

We keep the codes of accounts with no active plan for 12 months after the plan ends, then delete them (see our [privacy policy](https://qr4events.co.uk/privacy)). After that, printed codes can't be brought back.

## 5. Cancellations and refunds

- **Packs** aren't refundable once bought.
- **If you're buying as a consumer** (not for a business), UK law gives you 14 days to cancel. Your plan starts as soon as your payment is confirmed, so if you cancel within those 14 days we'll refund you for the part of the plan you haven't used.
- **Subscriptions:** you can cancel at any time, and your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund part periods.
- If the service is unavailable for a significant part of your plan because of a fault on our side, tell us and we'll extend your plan or give you a fair partial refund.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

## 6. Acceptable use

Your codes send real people to the destinations you choose, so you agree:

- to use the service lawfully, and only for destinations you're entitled to send people to;
- **not** to point codes at content that is illegal, deceptive or harmful - including phishing, malware, scams, impersonation of others, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
- not to use the service to send unsolicited messages, or to hide where a link really goes in order to mislead people;
- not to try to break, overload, probe or get around the security of the service.

We may pause or disable any code that we reasonably believe breaks these rules, and suspend accounts that do so repeatedly. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and explain why.

## 7. Your own domain

On a custom plan your codes can use your own domain. You're responsible for that domain and its DNS records, and for keeping it registered. If the domain stops pointing to us, codes printed with it will stop working.

## 8. Availability

We work to keep the service running, but we can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free; it depends on the internet and on services we don't control. Scan statistics are a guide: counts can be affected by network conditions, privacy settings, link previews and devices that scan more than once. We recommend you test-scan your printed artwork before a print run.

## 9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

Otherwise:

- we aren't liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss - including the cost of reprinting materials;
- we aren't liable for the destinations you choose, or for services run by third parties (including Stripe and the websites your codes link to);
- our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the pack or subscription period the claim relates to.

## 10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version shown here, with its date, applies from that date. If a change affects you significantly, we'll tell you by email.

## 11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
