# Extend or switch a pack

## Extend the same pack

Buy the same pack again in **Plan & billing**. The new period is added to the end of your current one: the option shows **extends to** and the new end date. Your codes carry on with no gap.

## Switch to a different pack

Choose a different pack, such as Event instead of Essentials. The new pack starts straight away. The unused part of your current pack is taken off the price, and the option shows **includes £X credit**.

The credit is what you paid, in proportion to the time left. If the credit is worth more than the new pack, choose a longer period or a bigger pack instead.

## Moving to a smaller plan

You can't switch to a plan with fewer codes than you're using. Delete or [pause](https://qr4events.co.uk/help/pause-duplicate-or-delete) codes first: the message tells you how many.

## Packs and subscriptions

- **Subscribing while you have a pack**: if your pack has more than a day left, your first subscription payment is taken when the pack ends, so you don't pay twice.
- **Buying a pack while you're subscribed**: cancel the subscription first, then buy the pack when it ends.
